Valdete Berisha manages CGAP’s Microfinance Gateway, a global resource on financial inclusion. Valdete joined the World Bank in 2012 and worked in the Global Engagements Unit of the Agriculture Global Practice until July 2016.
Valdete has over ten years of international development experience focused on research and communications in global trade policy, agriculture, and financial inclusion. Before joining the Bank, she worked with the Global Trade Group at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) from 2005 to 2012. At IFPRI she conducted research on trade policy and worked with the team that established AGRODEP, an economic modeling consortium for African researchers. Valdete holds a BA degree in International Relations and an MA in International Commerce and Policy from George Mason University's School of Public Policy.
