Sara Chamberlain is a Tech Laureate and the Head of Information Communication Technology for BBC Media Action in India. Sara is responsible for developing mobile services for base of the pyramid subscribers and community health workers at scale.  Sara has been at the forefront of digital communications in the development sector for 19 years, including 9 years spent designing and developing mobile services in Asia.  Her educational mobile and internet services – including Kilkari, Mobile Academy and Mobile Kunji in India and BBC Janala in Bangladesh - have benefited millions of users and won a number of awards including two GSMA Global Mobile Awards at Barcelona, a Microsoft Education award, Vodafone Mobile for Good award, two mBillionth awards, Gold and Bronze Cyber Lions at the Cannes International Advertising awards, a British Interactive Media award, two BAFTAs nominations, a WSIS Award, BBC Reith Award and more. Sara has also designed and delivered new media training programs for NGOs in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, India, Pakistan, the Palestinian Territories and Sri Lanka.
