Prashant has contributed to Internet innovation and leadership in the evolution of the ‘mobile-cloud’ connected paradigm empowering the planet in last 18 years. In India, he has led introduction of inclusive development constructs in partnership with Government.

Prashant is the Principal Director at Microsoft’s Cloud & Enterprise Division and has contributed to cloud computing strategy since its early days including the introduction of Linux in Windows Azure IaaS, acquisition of Revolution R for intelligent SQL PaaS & most recently architected MINE - cloud AI for Connected eyes. He started his career at Motorola in Chicago where he drove mobile innovations including Viamoto (one of the first voice assistant for GPS navigation) and the award-winning RAZR maxx (the first 3.5G device with touch controls).  He also helped setup an Ingram-backed Silicon Valley startup in mobile publishing and co-founded Microsoft Accelerator for startups in May 2012, the predecessor for Microsoft Ventures.

In India, his work has included introduction of a smart policy tool for school drop outs in multiple states aimed at the universalization of elementary education and innovation of climate-smart precision agriculture with ICRISAT to increase farmers income - work has been cited by the World Economic Forum, the Wall Street Journal, BBC World News and presented to Niti Aayog - the Prime Minister Council on National Policy.

Prashant holds a Master’s Degree from University of Florida, an MBA in Marketing from Kellogg at Northwestern University and is a recipient of the IEEE Larry K. Wilson Award, Lt. Governor Gold Medal at University of Delhi College of Engineering.
