Traditional Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) has focused on the "supply side" collection and sharing of data across a country or region. In the developing world context it has become abundantly clear that there is a need to more directly and formally connect geospatial data to its effective application for climate-smart, sustainable development and investment as a "Smart Development Infrastructure" or "SDI+". This presentation will cover the concepts involved, the institutional implications and the practical application of SDI+ to current case examples internationally.
