Developing nations are dependent on small-holder farmers and governments to ensure adequate food supply for their people. Access to accurate and up to date weather information (both observed and forecasted) is essential to providing a real-time early warning system to quickly identify pending food security issues. As weather variability is almost always negative for agriculture, providing accurate and timely insight supports better planning decisions for vulnerable populations before a crisis takes hold.

This presentation will address the information and insight required and available to accurately track and predict food security issues on a local, regional, national and global level.
