As part of our Insights and Impact work, DIAL is developing operational “how to” guidance on scaling deployments for country-based DSPs, filling a critical knowledge gap that is particularly acute during the 4-5 year mark of a service that has the potential to scale. This project (being developed with Vital Wave Consulting, BBC Media Action, Esoko and JHU) will create a resource to enable digital service providers to move beyond pilot projects and start-up phases to reach sustainable scale and achieve greater impact. The “Scale-up Guidance Toolkit” will build on and extend earlier guidance outputs, which primarily focused on providing guidance to launch and design digital development efforts, and focus more towards what it takes to sustain an initiative once launched. Development of this toolkit will be based on extensive research, iteration, user input and feedback, and will include the documentation of successful case studies to provide proof of concept.
