Part 1 of 3 concurrent sessions
60% of world's population does not have Internet. Four billion remain unconnected. How do you deliver large quantities of content electronically in a largely disconnected world? The Actionable Data Book (ADB) Project enables content portability while delivering interactive, exploratory, and collaborative learning activities.

Catholic Relief Services created Farmbook, a field-based business application built and tested at the request of a consortium of NGOs working in the Southern African Agro-Enterprise Learning Alliance. The application's purpose is to enable field agents to help farmers plan their farm businesses more effectively and evaluate their productivity and profitability. Given that the intended region for Farmbook has limited to no Internet connectivity, how can CRS effectively deliver this curriculum? ADB was proposed as a solution. CRS, eLearning MTO, and John Costa, CEO of RePubIT, partnered to create this solution.

This training session details how we attacked the problem for Farmbook, the issues we encountered, and the outcome of this project to date. Bring your curriculum needs and devices (tablet, PC, smart phone) to this session. You will explore ADB on your own, and have the opportunity to discuss, individually, how ADB could address your own curriculum delivery needs and what your next steps should be. John Costa will be available by Skype to answer specific questions concerning the ADB platform.
