Medic Mobile is an non-profit organization that builds mobile tools to improve health in underserved communities around the world. We see communication gaps through the eyes of users, and co-design healthcare delivery systems with local implementing partners to improve access, adherence, and quality of healthcare. Medic Mobile has worked with over 60 partners across 23 countries in Africa, Asia, and the US, and our technology supports over 14,000 health workers, improving health systems for over 8 million people.

Healthcare delivery around the world is undergoing major shifts as frontline health workers take on greater tasks to increase access, coverage and equity for essential health services. Medic Mobile has designed and implemented powerful mobile tools to support and accelerate these important shifts.

In 2016, we launched our newest Mobile App, a comprehensive, intuitive and person-centered Android application that works for health workers and their communities. Beyond just a tool for data collection or communication, the Medic Mobile App allows health workers to provide more integrated and continuous care for people over time. For the first time, health workers can not only perform actions using Medic Mobile such as register a pregnancy or report a disease, but also receive key decision-support, prioritize their tasks, view their performance against targets, and perhaps most importantly get an accurate picture of the health of communities they serve over time.

The Mobile App represents a new paradigm of digital tools for healthcare that empower frontline health workers to provide better healthcare in last-mile settings. Launched with our partners Living Goods and BRAC in Uganda and Muso in Mali, the tool now supports 5,000 frontline health workers in Africa and will be implemented in Asia this year.

This demonstration session will share an in-depth look into the Medic Mobile App and its functionalities, and will also share implementation experiences and learnings from our projects in Africa that will inform future deployments in Asia.
