Emergency Food Security Project "Superamos”, is developed in the municipalities of La Unión from department of Zacapa, Ipala and San Juan Ermita from Chiquimula department, San Luis Jilotepeque and San Pedro Pinula from department of Jalapa in Guatemala.

It is an emergency project addressed to vulnerable families from the northwestern rural area of the country, with children under 5 years old and pregnant mothers, families with disabled persons and the elderly, executed by Catholic Relief Services -CRS- in Guatemala, financed by the United States Agency for International Development -USAID-, through the office of Food for Peace -FFP-.

The main activity is to provide technical assistance through combining cash transfers and food vouchers, strengthen the purchase power of 5,000 families to satisfy their most immediate needs over a six-month period. To maximize the accountability CRS partnership with RedRose and use the innovative “ONESystem” for eVouchers implementation also with local bank agencies for cash transfers exchange to access monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning functions.
