Abhishek Pandit
QUEST Data Specialist
Bengaluru Area, India
Abhishek speaks 12 languages with fellow humans and another 5 to computers (who're a lot less forgiving of missing semi colons) . Fluent in French, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic and conversant in Russian and Swahili, in addition to English, Hindi and four other Indian languages, he can communicate with nearly 6 billion people across the world in their mothertongues.
He combines these exceptional communication skills with Statistics, Management (highest score in the world in Business Studies under the London School of Economics) and Development Economics (with Distinction from SOAS). The aim? To build meaningful connections within data, and across disciplines, technologies, stakeholders and geographies for systematic, systemic and sustainable social change . Also, his commas induce comas.
Following stints with India's Central Bank (RBI), the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, Oxford Policy Management, DataKind and the International Initiative for Impact Evaluation, Abhishek is now most fascinated with combining linguistics, data science and social science research methods to gauge the pulse of what underprivileged communities care most deeply about. He's turned to leveraging IVR, radio, mobile CDR and Natural Language Processing for improved impact and process analysis of interventions in governance, education, youth employment, entrepreneurship and financial inclusion.
When he isn't penning verbose and awkward 3rd person humblebrag accounts of himself, he can be found leading the simple life- writing his 2nd novel set in China, practicing Israeli martial arts, Japanese minimalism, Tibetan Buddhism, Indian vocals, Spanish guitar and British Ballroom dancing. You know, the usual.
